 WELCOME TO HELP FOR ANIMALS
YOUR LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER CLINIC

Help For Animals Inc operates as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that was organized by our founder, the late Dorothy Cridlin, and a handful of volunteers for the purpose of curbing the pet overpopulation in the Tri-state area.

If you live in Barboursville or the surrounding area in WV, Ohio, or Kentucky, then you have picked the perfect site to find a veterinarian. Dr. Kelly Pinkston is a licensed veterinarian, treating all types of pets and animals.  Your pet's health and well being is very important to us and we will take every step to give your pet the best possible care.

Help for Animals is primarily a non-profit, high volume, low cost spay/neuter clinic. Our head surgeon, Dr. Kelly K. Pinkston, was specially trained in the state of the art spay/neuter services. We have performed at least 180,000 surgeries since opening in 1974 for the Tri-State area of WV, OH, and KY. We are deeply committed to our community and lessening the financial burden on our clients, while still providing exceptional standard of care to our patients. We are also committed to decreasing the overpopulation of unwanted animals in our communities and we work closely with our TNR affiliates to realize this mission. In 2024 alone, 619 cats from feral colonies were altered and vaccinated against Rabies and then released. In 2020 we were joined by Dr. Hannah Combs and in 2021 Dr, Staci Palmer. The addition of these two talented and dedicated Veterinarians has made it possible for us to expand our care and increase our numbers. We offer wellness visits, vaccinations, parasite control, dental care, soft tissue surgery, therapeutic laser treatments and radiology all at a lower cost than surrounding clinics. In 2024 a total of 11,094 patients were seen for general wellness exams and to treat illness. We also offer a shot clinic once a month where the office visit is waived and the vaccines are at their lowest price.

We have a number of resources for you to learn about how to take better care of your pets. Browse around and look at our articles and pet videos. The best veterinary care for animals is ongoing nutrition and problem prevention. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call 304-736-8555 or email us and we'll promptly get back to you. Our office is very easy to get to, and you can find directions on our Contact Us page. You can also subscribe to our newsletter which is created especially for Barboursville pet owners. In between your veterinary visits, your pet will benefit from you reading these free informative articles.

At Help for Animals Clinic, we treat your pets like the valued family members they are.
